Our RCAV Discerners Group for men is purposefully exclusive and incredibly life-giving for all our serious candidates. By invitation only, our monthly Discerners Group meetings play such a huge role in helping so many of our men to say ‘yes’ to the application process and – eventually – ‘yes’ to the seminary. After meeting one-on-one with one of our Vocation Team members, it is very possible for an invitation to be extended to you. Typically, our gatherings last three hours: we start with 45 minutes of Eucharistic Adoration, we then head over to the dining area to feast on a sumptuous meal together, and then we break off into small groups for a period of meaningful reflection. Believe it or not, after three hours, most guys don’t want to leave!
For the beginning portion of the time, our Adoration period, members of our Vancouver Serra Club will usually be in attendance. The mighty, prayer warrior “Serrans” (as they are affectionately known) are lay women and men who have embraced their specific calling to pray for (and support in a plethora of ways) the work of vocations. Along with St. John Marie Vianney, we benefit greatly from the intercession of St. Junipero Serra... and the help of all his tireless Serrans.
