Why am I studying to become a priest? After coming to know Jesus in a deeper, more personal way, I realized that God has a specific plan for my life. I know that whatever his plan is, it is the best plan — a plan for my happiness and holiness. I think priesthood is part of that plan for me. One thing that attracts me to the priesthood is devoting my life to living for God and bringing others to relationship with him.

Favourite food: I love sushi, every type of sushi, but especially salmon and tuna sashimi.

Favourite sport: Most people would assume basketball because of my height, but hockey is my favourite sport. I also love racquetball and squash.

Favourite movie: “Nacho Libre” — A contentious choice, but it makes me laugh every time and is extremely quotable.

Favourite book: Out of books recently read, “Til We Have Faces” by C.S. Lewis is my favourite. It might be my favourite of all time too…

Favourite hobby/extracurricular activity before you became a seminarian: I enjoyed (and still do) mountain biking with friends down steep, bumpy, and windy trails and stopping at McDonald’s afterwards to counteract the excessive amount exercise we got from peddling kilometres uphill to get to the trailhead.

If you could be one superhero, who would you be, and why? I’d probably just be Captain America because he’s probably the most normal, but more importantly, he’s a virtuous guy trying to do the right thing — and he’s super strong!

Favourite quote: “You are not your own; you were bought with a price.” – 1 Cor 6:19-20
